DETONATORER anvendes til antændelse af sprængstof. DETONATORER inddeles i DE-TONATOR No. 8 til tændsnor, EL-DETONATORER og IKKE ELEKTRISKE DETONATORER (NONEL). DETONATOR No. 8 og EL-DETONATORER, type BRWF, indeholder ca. 0,3 g blyazid og ca. 0,7 g pentrit, hexogen e.lign. EL-DETONATORER, type VA-MS leveres som Non Primary Explosives Detonators (NPED) og er uden blyazid.
